Prof. Dr. Serpil Öcal was born in 1976 in Ankara, Turkey. She graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and completed her residency in Pulmonology at Atatürk Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital in 2005. She later specialized in Intensive Care Medicine at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2008.
Her academic career includes positions at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University and Hacettepe University, where she served as Assistant and Associate Professor in the Division of Intensive Care. In 2025, she was appointed as Professor at the University of Health Sciences, Bilkent City Hospital, where she currently works in the Department of Pulmonology and Pulmonary Intensive Care.
Prof. Öcal continues to contribute to clinical care, research, and education in the fields of Pulmonology and Intensive Care Medicine.
