Tuğba Erdem completed her undergraduate education at Maltepe University School of Nursing in 2012 and subsequently worked for approximately nine years as an anesthesia and reanimation nurse. In parallel, she also practiced in the field of home care nursing for three years. She received her MSc degree in Internal Medicine Nursing from Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa in 2019 and completed her PhD in the same field in 2024. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded a research fellowship and collaborated with the Skin Sensing Research Group at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. She has received international training in intensive care nursing, wound care nursing, compression therapy, and wound therapy. Her scientific research focuses on intensive care nursing, skin integrity in critically ill patients, heart failure, and the biophysical parameters of the skin. Dr. Erdem currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Koç University School of Nursing.
